Some Semblance of Justice

Carnation woman sentenced for letting horses starve

Woman sentenced for what rescuers called 'horrifying' case of animal abuse

Carnation woman sentenced in animal cruelty caseKing5 Video

9-month sentence in Wash. horse mistreatment case

9-month sentence in case of starved horses

Around the internet and in local circles the picture of this foal haunts many folks. I snapped this picture back in March. Ella died a few short months later. Her abuser is finally being held somewhat accountable the deaths and abuse of many others. The Snohomish county case, which Ella is a part of, will not go to trial or sentencing until later this month.

Here is a photo of Ella’s dam also taken that heart-wrenching day.

Save a Forgotten Equine is still caring for some of these horses. If you are interested in helping them or adopting one that has completed rehab, please visit the SAFE web site for more information.

Oh Heavens Liz... I don't know how you were able to go and take those pictures with out bringing everyone home with you.

Thank God for SAFE.

I am glad there was some justice for those horses, not sure it was enough.
I know how hard that baby was on you.

I remember them. I'm just glad that woman is getting some punishment. It won't be enough. Abusers never get enough punishment.

I just don't get it! Why do people think it is okay to do that to animals. The outrage that should come out of things like this should be very, very big. Maybe we should do the same to her as she did to this poor horse. SAD, SAD :( !!

Hearing stuff like this always makes me so sick. The sad thing is, it's going on around us all the time, many cases on properties we'll never know about. I can't even think about it, it's so sad!

Horray that she was convicted!

Boo that she only has to serve 9 months.

Horray (again) that she cannot keep animals for 5 years. Although she only got 1 year of probation, I hope the authorites are going keep and eye on her in the future.

Thank you Liz for following this case and watching over the horses.
