My barefoot trimmer Pat Wagner posted this great article on her blog recently. Wylie is one of my favorite Western singers, as many of you might know already.

My horse Gilly is barefoot trimmed. My trimmer studied under Jaime Jackson and is certified, I LOVE this trim and Gilly's feet are wonderful. He has never had shoes and never will as long as I own him. I get a lot of flack from others who don't believe in this trim and have shoes, I feel sorry for their horses! I don't care what others say, barefoot trimming is great for the horse!

Great article. I prefer barefoot and all my mustangs run barefoot. But, Colt and Whiskey who we use to gather and move cattle have shoes for the summer. The rocks out here just kill their feet when you put that many miles on them over the rocky terrain.
Wylie's horse sounds like something special! I knew he was a Paddys Irish Whiskey colt by his name and by golly, he's a half brother to My Man's horse Whiskey Easy...born in the same year, 1998.
